AUGUST 1-20, 2026: A SALT & LIGHT MISSION TRIP TO MONTANA!
We are excited about our Salt & Light team headed to Montana! Rhoda and I will be there August 1-20 and our team will join us August 3-17. We will be leading a Youth & Adult Camp, a Vacation Bible School and doing some Community Projects. We are working with people that we’ve known for many years and joining them to make a huge difference in this region. We did a mission project there in 2024 and we are excited to bring a team back for more!
SUMMER, 2026: TEACHING LIVE ONLINE TO S. ASIA
On June 8-9 Tom will be teaching online at a Pastors Conference in S. Asia. On July 27-31, we will both be teaching Bible College Students in S. Asia. We love the opportunities to connect with our Asian friends! Thanks for your prayers that we can make a big impact for the Lord in that region!
APRIL 2-8, 2026: SERVE WEEK AT OUR CHURCH
Our church did over 85 outreaches with hundreds of volunteers during Serve Week 2026. We were blessed to lead six of these outreaches. Together we served at local homeless shelters and rehab centers like Salvation Army, Resurrection House and Turning Points. We also did some practical work like helping foster parents paint a room for a young child and assemble seeds that will go around the world to feed families in need. We were blessed to be part of this Serve Week and see so many lives touched both spiritually and practically.
MARCH 23-APRIL 3, 2026: NORTHEAST US MINISTRY TRIP
We are getting in our truck and little camper and heading on a trip up the US East Coast all the way to the DC, Delaware areas. This is a Spirit-led trip with minimal pre-planning. Just hit the road and see where we sense God taking us. We bought a canopy tent and some banners to use as a prayer tent. FEBRUARY 2026: TEXAS WORK TRIP FOR TOM
Tom is going back to Texas to work some handyman jobs there and connect with family. Thanks for your prayers for a speedy job done with excellence.
JANUARY 23-24, 2026: CONFERENCE IN SARASOTA, FL
Tom attended a 2 day conference in Sarasota. The first day was for area leaders and Tom was asked to share about Salt & Light Ministry at one of the tables there. The second day was the 4th annual “Seek First” Conference with author Peter Greer. What a great reminder of the importance of not allowing our personal or ministry lives to drift from our calling. Thank you to my friend Brian Yost for leading this conference.
JANUARY 11, 2026: SPEAKING AT NEW HOPE CHURCH (FROSTPROOF, FL)
We’ve been invited back again to share at New Hope. We are excited to connect with the people there and bring a message of hope to them. Thanks for your prayers for our trip and for their ministry.
JANUARY 2-9, 2026: MINISTRY TRIP TO MISSISSIPPI
We are blessed to visit with our friends in Mississippi once again. We are also scheduled to spend some time with church leadership in that area to encourage them and I am doing some handyman work while we are there.
DECEMBER 9-15, 2025: RHODA TEACHING STUDENTS IN NEPAL ONLINE
Rhoda has been asked once again to teach college level courses on Zoom to young students in S. Asai with the focus on worship and prayer. This teaching will be a one week study, over 12 hours of classes. What an opportunity to encourage these young students that we interacted with during our time there.
NOVEMBER 2, 2025: SPEAKING AT NEW HOPE CHURCH (FROSTPROOF, FL)
We are speaking at New Life Church in Frostproof, Florida. What a great church! We’ve shared there a few times and it’s always a blessing spending time with Pastor Landon and Tarah and their amazing family! We used to serve together on staff years ago in Sarasota and we have built a great friendship with them over the years. Thanks for praying about this event!
OCTOBER 5-28: TEXAS TRIP
We are headed to Texas in October for some ministry and baptisms with family and to do an extensive handyman job. We are looking forward to seeing family again and see also how God can use us while we are there.
SEPTEMBER 26, 2025: MINISTRY PARTNERS MEETING
We are now planning our first Salt & Light Ministry Partners Meeting on 9/26, 7PM EST. We will host this on Zoom online so we can interact with people around the globe who have partnered with our ministry in various ways. This is a preamble to our Online Vision Meeting in November. AUGUST 14 - 16, 2025: JUGGALO GATHERING OUTREACH IN OHIO
Each year in Ohio hundreds of people gather in Ohio for a week long music festival called a “Juggalo Gathering.” There is a lot of drug and alcohol use that week but for more than 10 years, Joe Hamblen and “Jesus Loves Juggalos” have setup tents all week to be a light and reach people at these gatherings. It’s been our honor to serve with them several times. Each year we sit down with over 250 people during the course of the week, to hear their story and share the Gospel message of God’s love and truth with them. This year Rhoda is going alone to meet with the team there because I have bad ankle sprain and can’t be on my feet all week. She’s so excited and she does such an amazing job sharing God’s love with all types of people. Thanks for keeping her and the team in your prayers!
JUNE 14 -JULY 16, 2025: SOUTH ASIA MISSION TRIP
By your prayers and support, you can join us on our one-month faith journey to South Asia this summer. We will be teaching pastors, leaders, Bible college students, and ministering in the villages there. Our estimated expenses, primarily airfare and transportation, will be $6500. MARCH 1, 2025: FMI MINISTERIAL BANQUET
We have been blessed to lead Fellowship of Ministers International this past year. FMI has been empowering the calling for ministry in leaders since 1942. FEBRUARY 1-10, 2025: MISSISSIPPI TRIP
We are always looking for ways to encourage pastors and leaders In a region. We have been invited to Mississippi to connect with friends and pastors in the area. This is the same area that i did some handyman work last year and it’s going to be good to revisit the people I met on may previous trip and Rhoda will now have a chance to see them too.

In January, Rhoda will be teaching college level courses on Zoom to young students in Nepal with the focus on teaching them on how to lead music practically as well as a focus on prophetic worship and spiritual gifts in worship. This teaching will be a one week study, over 12 hours of classes.

NOVEMBER-DECEMBER 2024: “AOK” OUTREACHES
In Nov-Dec we did a few Acts of Kindness (“AOK”) outreaches where we handed out flowers and prayed with people. We also made some homemade soup and took it to the a homeless camp on Thanksgiving am where we also talked with the people there and prayed for some.

We are engaged in helping people who were negatively affected by the past 2 hurricanes to hit Florida. We are working with family, old friends and new friends to help restore what has been lost and bring hope to people again. We will keep you posted on our efforts here. SEPTEMBER 2024: LAUNCHING “BASECAMP” ONLINE DISCIPLESHIP
If you’ve ever taken a guided trip up a mountain, chances are you spent some time at a base camp with instructors preparing you for your journey. Life is certainly a journey as well. Basecamp is a free online equipping tool I created to help you prepare for the journey of life. In our “Exploring Christianity” module we will link you to great ministries to help answer some fundamental questions like, “why are we here?” and “is there a God?”. In “First Steps” we will walk you through some initial steps of becoming a follower of Christ. In “Build Foundation” you’ll discover many free college-level courses and books that will be easy to follow and allow you to work at your own pace. And finally, in our “Train for Ministry” module we will help you grow in leadership and confidence as you begin to lead others in faith and train in ministry. In the last two modules you’ll also get free access to over 150 teaching videos from Rhoda and I. Basecamp will be rolling out to all three organizations we oversee soon.
SEPTEMBER 2024: VISIT WITH YWAM ORLANDO
We are looking forward to connecting with some great friends at Youth with a Mission Orlando. We’ve known them for many years and they lead many of the efforts there and around the world. It will be great to visit their ministry and hear how their ministry is effective around the world.
AUGUST 2024: OUR GRANDDAUGHTER IS BORN!
We are so excited to welcome baby Marley into the world, our second grandchild! She is doing great! We are taking time this month to connect with our kids and grandkids after traveling so much the last 2 months. We are also doing a lot of prep work for our ministry including prepping for many more online teachings and working on a new series that focuses on the teachings of Jesus that we will be teaching together.
AUGUST 2024: NEW WEBSITE
I just did a complete makeover for our website and we also changed our site name to www.SaltandLight.live. You can still get to it if you use www.TomandRhoda.net but we wanted to focus more on the name of our ministry in our site’s name. You can find our social medial links there, watch all our videos, see the latest pictures from our trips and much more. AUGUST 9 2024: FMI ORDINATION
Because we also lead a Ministerial Fellowship called Fellowship of Ministers International (www.FMIminiistry.com), we are able to license people into the ministry after a qualifying process. In August, we had the joy of ordaining Jacob and Bethany Hostetler into the ministry of pastor. They have been leading their youth ministry at their church in Bradenton, Florida for several years. We have seen God’s anointing on them both and we were excited to be part of this important time in their lives.
JULY 31-AUGUST 8 2024: HANDYMAN WORKING TRIP FOR TOM IN MISSISSIPPI
I was invited by a great friend there to help him remodel one of his rental homes. It was also a great opportunity to spend time with their family and to meet several ministry leaders in the area. I was also able to meet Joshua, who has an amazing testimony of God restoring him after being on drugs since he was 12. He now has a beautiful family and will be staying in the home we were working on. Check out our website (www.saltandlight.live/messages), for this outreach interview.
JULY 8-23 2024: US STATE MINISTRY TRIP
We drove from Florida to New York then to Mississippi before heading home on this trip, over 4000 miles! We made many stops along the way. This was a “led by the Spirit” trip as we looked for opportunities to connect with people to encourage them and share the Gospel. We were able to do that at RV Parks, parking lots, restaurants, and stores. We also connected with many family members along the way and encouraged several who are in the ministry. Our daughter Summer also flew up to join us in New York for a few days and we had a great time with family there and climbed some huge waterfall areas.
JUNE 18-22 2024: EXALT YOUTH CAMP
We were so excited to return to lead in the teachings at the youth and young adult camp for Exalt Church in Bradenton! Jacob and Bethany Hostetler lead this ministry and they used to be in our youth group (Fortress) many years ago. Hanging out with the students and leaders all week was so refreshing and fun! It was amazing to see the students grow in their faith and confidence in hearing from God throughout the week. God moved on us all in such beautiful ways! What a joy we had to interact with and shape the next generation!
APRIL 19-MAY 8 2024: MINISTRY TRIP TO MONTANA
We flew to Montana to help cleanup a Youth with a Mission (YWAM) base damaged by fire. It was great to see the Elke’s who led the YWAM group at FOB a few years ago and are now leading the new base in Montana. It was also great to see Don and Beth Moree, former missionaries with FOB, who work at another YWAM base in Montana. We were able to connect these couples and now they are working together. We met so many amazing people, including pastors, leaders and so many children in that region, and we are so grateful. We visited 3 churches and had a great ministry service at YWAM with the amazing families there. We hope to go back soon and hopefully ordain several into the ministry.
